Head of Alumni & Supporter Relations (Faculties & Programmes)

University College London

London, UK

Salary range of £66,711 - £72,370 pa plus excellent benefits

Since our founding, we have always done things differently. Our diverse and global community of world-class academics, staff, students and alumni have the freedom and courage to challenge, question and think differently. We continuously break boundaries and develop solutions to real world problems.

In 2020, we closed one of the most successful fundraising campaigns in the UK's higher education sector, which raised £624M and galvanised our community. We have undertaken a strategic review of our programmes and are designing a roadmap for what's next. We are investing significantly in our team and have created 2 new roles to lead key alumni engagement initiatives at UCL. This is an incredibly exciting time as we plan for UCL's biggest ever fundraising and engagement campaign, launching in our bicentenary year, 2026.

As our new Heads of Alumni & Supporter Relations, you will lead a talented, creative and fun team that works with our 430,000+ alumni in 190 countries, to keep them engaged and active within our global community. You will be responsible for the delivery of gold-standard alumni engagement programmes and experiences, thinking through how UCL shows up for our alumni, and how alumni can show up for UCL.

As the Head of Alumni & Supporter Relations (Faculty & Programmes), you will lead a team to work across the Faculties at UCL, developing innovative and inspiring programmes to showcase the research and teaching power of the university. You will also drive our honorary, graduation milestones, parents and newly revamped volunteering programmes, drawing our community closer.

These roles will require highly collaborative community engagement specialists, with experience of working with and getting the best out of volunteers and key stakeholders. The strength you bring in building relationships, and your highly developed interpersonal skills and entrepreneurial spirit will underpin your success. There are opportunities to build new programmes and initiatives, and it will be important that you are energised by the idea of this and the opportunity to travel and represent UCL as a brand ambassador.

We are a team of passionate individuals who work together to achieve remarkable things with a global impact. Our people really are our greatest asset and we invest in them so that they can fulfil their potential. Equity, diversity and inclusion is important to us. We are committed to creating an environment where everyone is encouraged to give their best in a place where their unique experiences, perspectives and skills are seen as valuable assets. We also prioritise work-life balance and offer agile working and flexibility around working hours. We are happy to receive part-time applications for all of our job opportunities, and can consider a 0.8FTE working pattern for this role. And we particularly welcome applications from candidates who are likely to be underrepresented in UCL's workforce.
