Job Description

KC Group are recruiting on behalf of a dynamic and rapidly growing SME in Staffordshire, with a current turnover of £200m+ and ambitious plans for future expansion. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking business at a critical stage of its development, providing leadership and strategic insight as they continue their growth trajectory.

As Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the business, taking responsibility for the financial health of the company, ensuring strong financial governance, and providing strategic recommendations to support continued growth.

  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Lead the finance team and provide mentorship and development to ensure high performance.
  • Partner with the MD and senior leadership team to contribute to key business decisions and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and implement robust financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and support scaling.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring the business maintains a strong financial position.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and present findings and recommendations to the board.
  • Manage external relationships, including auditors, banks, and investors.
  • Lead on financial due diligence for potential acquisitions and other growth opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate:

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a strong commercial background and a proven track record of adding value within a fast-growing SME or similar environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Significant post-qualification experience, ideally within a business of similar scale (£50m+ revenue).
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence strategic decisions at the board level.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with experience developing high-performing finance teams.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • A track record of implementing financial controls and improving processes.
