Job Description

We're looking for a Facilities & Support Services Co-ordinator to work as part of a wider team in Dorset.

Your main office will be at Stinsford Centre, Kingston Maurward College, Dorchester, DT2 8PY; occasional travel to other sites will be required and some hybrid working will be possible

This is a part time role with 18.75 hrs/week.

To ensure business continuity the preferred working times would cover the mornings, Mondays to Fridays, however some flexibility will be possible and will be discussed during the interview.

What it's like to work here

As Facilities and Support Services Coordinator for the North and West Dorset portfolio of the National Trust you'll play a key role in our team. As the first point of contact for enquiries you'll work closely with our countryside teams to provide excellent customer service. You'll be supporting the team by organising training, purchasing uniforms and equipment, helping with IT issues and looking after our information database on sharepoint. There will be a focus on supporting compliance management withing the portfolio, and you will be responsible for your own compliance tasks.

In this role you'll be managed by the facilities manager and work closely with the Facilities and Support Services Coordinator covering our three literary houses Max Gate, Hardy's Cottage and Clouds Hill, ensuring business continuity in times of absence.

What you'll be doing

You'll be managing email inboxes, and dealing with visitor enquiries by email and telephone; you'll be IT support for staff members, including managing equipment with a responsibility of information management. You'll help with planning and running events, and organise and plan training. You'll Manage operational contracts incl. alarm servicing, pest control and sewage management. Supporting compliance by updating our compliance tracker and being responsible for own compliance tasks. Depending on your skill set you might also carry out simple handyman services around our properties, however this will not be a focus of this role;

Who we're looking for

We'd love to hear from you if you are:

  • Experienced in a customer service environment, working with internal and external customers; and have an understanding of good customer service standards
  • Experienced in using Microsoft applications, record management systems and other software packages
  • Good with written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to multitask and work in collaboration with other departments
  • Organised and have good time management skills
  • A driver with a full UK licence
