Job Description

The LLDC has achieved an incredible amount since its creation in 2012. Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park has been transformed into one of London's top destinations, attracting millions of worldwide visitors each year, providing a valuable resource for local communities, and generating millions of pounds of economic benefit for the capital.

This is an exciting time at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as the next phase of the greatest regeneration legacy of any Games begins. With planning handed back to the local boroughs providing a tighter focus in a smaller organisation, you will be part of a new leadership team charged with delivering even more benefits for the people of east London.

As our new Executive Director of Development, you will provide strategic leadership, oversight and coordination of all development activity across the Estate. As such, you will ensure that planned development meets delivery timescales whilst maintaining the highest quality standards of design and inclusivity. This will include delivering our Housing Delivery Plan, maximising sustainable outcomes and commercial opportunities, whilst ensuring all planning obligations and conditions are appropriately discharged. You will be responsible for delivering the development capital receipts assumed in our Long Term Model.

Acting as an ambassador for the LLDC, you will forge and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including local authorities, developers, investors, community groups and other partners. This will include leading negotiations and discussions with stakeholders to secure support and resources for the development projects.

We are looking for an experienced real estate professional who can demonstrate a proven track record of success in the leadership and delivery of large-scale projects and land deals, in urban areas of comparable complexity. This includes significant commercial expertise and experience in development delivery, financing (joint venture and partnership), and the provision of advice on the delivery of major development and regeneration strategies. You will possess strong negotiation skills and have the professional credibility to rapidly gain the confidence and trust of internal and external stakeholders. As a key member of the Executive, we would expect you to be able to demonstrate a strong desire, and ability, to contribute to corporate-wide matters.
