Job Title: Environmental Manager (Water Industry)

Location: Hybrid, Heathrow based

Salary: to £70k Company Car/Allowance and benefits

An exciting new opportunity for a Environmental Manager. You ll need a Professional membership with the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (PIEMA), strong knowledge of environmental regulations, and a proven ability to implement sustainability initiatives, assess risks, and develop effective management plans to minimize environmental impact.

What s the Role:

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations at all levels, conduct audits and assessments to verify adherence and prepare necessary regulatory reports.
  • Develop and implement impactful sustainability initiatives, managing environmental systems like ISO 14001, and leading in waste reduction, resource conservation, and energy efficiency efforts.
  • Assess environmental risks, conduct impact evaluations for projects and operational changes, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Deliver engaging training sessions to educate staff on environmental policies, raise organizational awareness, and foster a culture of environmental responsibility.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of environmental activities and achievements, prepare informative reports for internal and external stakeholders, and track performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor environmental performance, analyse outcomes, and provide actionable insights to support the organization s commitment to environmental excellence and sustainable growth.

What you ll Need:

  • PIEMA certification (Professional membership of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment) with strong expertise in environmental legislation and best practices.
  • Proven experience in environmental management systems (EMS) and sustainability frameworks, with the ability to develop and maintain these systems effectively.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing environmental challenges and optimizing sustainability efforts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in stakeholder engagement and collaboration across functions to drive environmental initiatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently, working well under pressure to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting tools and performance metrics, with experience in accurately tracking and reporting on environmental performance.
