Job Description

Are you an enterprise expert looking to put their mark on the work at British Heart Foundation (BHF)?

Our architecture vision is to deliver a reliable and efficient technical landscape, making it easier to deliver and support technology that grows our income and deliver BHF's mission, and this role will play an instrumental role in making that happen.

As an Enterprise Architect you'll be responsible for shaping our strategic Infrastructure approach and play a key role in ensuring our architectural processes and structures strive for excellence. Managing a small team of Solution Architects, you'll review, develop and assist with designing and implementing technical solutions for Business as Usual (BAU) and Line of Business (LoB) systems and services, within Cloud and on-premises provisions.

You'll shape the delivery of Enterprise-Class, scalable, and secure solutions that are within agreed strategic and organisational objectives and will work with vendors and wider stakeholders to ensure BHF delivers fit for purpose solutions with a focus on infrastructure.

About Technology Data and Architecture

As BHF evolves so does the role of data. Now more than ever there is a desire to work collaboratively across the BHF to develop and mature our data capability, to support our mission.

Our Data and Architecture team aims to strengthen the architecture capability to provide effective governance and direction to deliver key our programmes, whilst evolving BHF's technical landscape. The team is focused on the strategic vision, roadmap and provides governance for data and technology, working closely with chapters to support and influence the technical direction of the portfolios.

Working arrangements

Please note this is a fixed term contract for 12 months, covering an internal secondment.

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

At BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average. The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

About you

Experienced in developing and implementing comprehensive technology roadmaps for enterprise-level infrastructure and solutions, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and organisational goals, you'll be proficient in utilising and implementing architecture frameworks and tooling at an enterprise architecture level.

You'll have knowledge of design and review processes and operations (eg. Architectural reviews) as well as significant experience of designing, developing and supporting complex technology solutions. You'll also have strong experience in managing and working with virtual teams and 3rd parties and previous experience working with functional and technical specifications and requirements to create solutions designs or enhancements.

Networking
Microsoft Entra
M365
InTune
MS Security Suite
Telephony systems etc
both on-prem and Cloud

You'll have a strong analysis and explorative ability, working with 3rd parties and vendors, and previous stakeholder management experience and will be comfortable communicating with stakeholders up to chief level. With strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, able to liaise and work with non-technical people in a clear manner, you'll have strong communication skills, able to translate complex infrastructure-related matters into business terms that are readily understood by colleagues.
