Engagement and Fundraising Compliance Lead

Engaging more customers is critical to achieving that big step change, and this role of Engagement and Fundraising Compliance Lead is a lynchpin in making this happen.
Working closely with fundraising teams, as well as supporting marketing, brand and communications, you and your team will work across the directorate to ensure our external engagement activity is compliant and high-quality for our customers. You will also play a pivotal convening role - supporting the Engagement Leadership Team with risk and compliance management, acting as a critical spoke to RNIB's central Compliance, Risk and Assurance team, and ensuring everybody right up to Trustees, understand their responsibilities around fundraising and marketing compliance.
About the Role
This is a specialist but varied role, with opportunity to continue shaping and developing strong foundations. On a day-to-day basis, you would be:
- Overseeing the compliance of fundraising, marketing, and advertising activity across the Engagement directorate, in line with regulations, standards, and codes of practice.
- Identifying, collating, reporting and escalating internal and external risks faced by the Engagement directorate.
- Overseeing compliance quality assurance controls to monitor quality of our delivery, and ongoing improvement and development.
- Overseeing and developing our approach and delivery to Gift Aid.
Who are we looking for?
- A specialist in fundraising compliance, with knowledge of wider marketing and advertising regulations
- An individual with solid grasp of possible risks faced by large national charities in the world of fundraising and wider external engagement, and an informed but pragmatic approach to their mitigation
- Someone connected with compliance across the sector, with their ear to the ground
- A personable and influential relationship builder who instils trust in all those around them
- A proactive multi-tasker, hot on the detail but able to step-back and consider the bigger strategic picture.
