Hyster-Yale designs, assembles, sells and provides service to lift trucks (8-52 tons) under the Hyster and Yale brand names. There are two assembly lines in Nijmegen for the largest trucks in the range: the Big Truck line and Jumbo Truck line. More than 750 people work at the Nijmegen location, divided over three divisions: 400 people in manufacturing, 200 at the Big Truck Development Centre (Engineering) and more than 150 at the After Market (after sales) organisation.

The Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for designing and developing software for forklift truck (sub)systems. In this function you will build knowledge of the (sub) systems in the field of hydraulics, mechanics and electronics and are responsible for developing and designing software solutions related to integrating system control within the various applications. Additionally, in this role you will guide the software teams in designing, building, testing and deploying changes to existing software and software tools. Streamlining and automating the process of creating, testing, and deploying software applications is of key importance.

Tasks:

• Defining a set of requirements and developing software for controllers (hydraulics/cooling);
• Developing specifications for software development and deployment;
• Design and implementation of automation tools for continuous integration, delivery and deployment;
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to the software functions, both behind your desk as in one of the trucks.

• Completed HBO Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Control Technology or Computer Science;
• At least 3 years' experience in developing embedded software in C/C++;
• Full command of the English language, Dutch proficiency is a pre;
• Familiarity with Python, Java and/or Jenkins;
• Experience with managing (vehicle) controls and relevant protocols is an advantage;
• Affinity with the complete Software Development Life Cycle;
• Experience within the automotive industry.

Hyster-Yale falls under the collective labor agreement for the metal and electrical industry and uses a market-conform, transparent classification per position.

• Salary: Min: €4.200 - Max:€4.600
• 8% holiday allowance
• 27 days of leave plus 13 ADV days per year with a full-time employment contract
