DV Cleared - SCCM/WSUS Design Subject Matter Expert - 6-Month rolling contract - Erskine

Empiric have an opportunity for a skilled SCCM/WSUS Design SME to join a national defence consultancy partnered across a number of top-secret Defence projects on a large IT transformation program. This role involves collaborating with key stakeholders to design and implement solutions for the transformation stream.

Experience in classified, top-secret and secure environments is essential (Active DV Clearance)

Key Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Service Design, specifically in creating enterprise solutions.
• Proficiency in producing various design documentation artifacts, including high-level and low-level designs, installation and operational guides, technical notes, and knowledge base documentation for medium to large-scale Software Distribution solutions.

• Duration: 6 months rolling (2-3 year contract)

Required Expertise:

• Advanced skills in the following areas:
  • Configuration Manager Current Branch
  • App-V (packaging and distribution, both standalone and integrated)
  • VDI Gold Image management
  • Deployment and management of Office 2013, 2016, and O365
  • Infrastructure design and installation
  • Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
  • Operating System Deployment (OSD) and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
  • Strong SQL skills, including complex query writing
  • Proficient with Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, and Windows 10 for building, configuration, and deployment

Essential Skills:

• Experience with server and desktop build prototyping using SCCM.
• Familiarity with Configuration Management systems for software updates and configuration data retrieval.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently.
• Expert diagnostic and fault-finding skills at a 4th line level.
• Understanding of network protocols (eg, HTTP, HTTPS, TCP) and related technologies (eg, Active Directory, Group Policies, SSL, IIS, WDS).
• Knowledge of both physical and virtual environments.
• Virtual infrastructure administration, including templates, clones, and virtual disks.
• Proficiency in PowerShell Scripting.
