You will work closely across all the directorates in the council, maximising the opportunities of being a unitary authority.
You will be the system leader for improving the health and wellbeing of residents, reducing inequalities in health outcomes and protecting local communities in Wokingham. As the Director of Public Health, you will take on a key strategic and systems leadership role across the Council and our partnerships including the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West Integrated Care Board, the Wokingham Integrated Partnership Board and other health partners, as well as collaborating closely with all key partners to improve health outcomes including the Police, Fire, schools and the voluntary sector, aligning efforts to maximise impact.
You'll take a cross-system approach to deliver our ambitious Health and Wellbeing Strategy, ensuring that our communities remain safe, healthy, and thriving, and that the building blocks of good health and wellbeing are embedded across all areas of the Council and our partnership work.
We are seeking an individual with exceptional leadership acumen, a proven track record of partnership working, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. The successful candidate will be able to operate in complex partnership settings, navigating the demands of local government, health, and broader public and community organisations.
