DevOps and Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Digital Defence

This is an exciting opportunity for a DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join a high growth team already transforming the IT landscape for Defence organisations across the UK and Europe. Our client has seen extensive success building data and cloud solutions over the last decade and with increasing pipeline, we are growing the DevOps & Infrastructure team who will continue to build the bedrock that these platforms sit on.

We are open to explore candidates across Senior and Lead levels of experience, critically looking for driven consultants who are keen to make an impact to a growing company and the nation's critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Take an active role in the build of scalable, maintainable, and secure infrastructure platforms across cloud environments and monitor the day-to-day activities
• Work with development teams to build, integrate and deploy applications.
• Manage cloud infrastructure across platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for continuous software updates
• Develop automation scripts for improved efficiency
• Conduct regular system updates to conform with industry standards and regulations
• Implement monitoring and alerting systems to maintain performance
• Administer performance tuning and capacity planning for future developments; provide troubleshooting and support services
• Adhere to frameworks such as JSP604, Secure by Design, Cloud Security Principals etc.
• Lead cross-functional teams delivering across the platform component
• Collaborate with and support other infrastructure engineers in the team
• Partake in training and development activities to enrich your skill set, and support the learning and development of others

Required Experience/Skills:

• Experience with configuration, networking, Firewalls, hardware, and other services within Linux operating systems
• Expertise with AWS
• Strong experience with containerisation: Docker/Kubernetes
• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code: Terraform/Ansible
• Awareness of configuration of terraform (manual and automated) for debugging
• Experience working with virtualisation software: VMWare
• Ability to configure with CICD systems using technologies such as ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Gitlab
• Strong appetite to learn and contribute to a growing organisation
• Desirable experience: working with GOV.UK Service Manual and in Government environments.
