Senior Data Scientist/Python Developer - Remote

Location: Remote
Duration: 1 year (with potential for extension)
Language: English (German is a plus)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist/Python Developer to join our remote team. You will be part of a collaborative, cross-functional group working on end-to-end solutions, from architecture to deployment. The role includes both hands-on development and leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Participate in projects from inception to delivery
• Coordinate the team and mentor junior colleagues (in collaboration with senior staff)
• Take ownership of project architecture and technical implementation
• Maintain high development standards (including code reviews, test coverage >80%, and full Infrastructure as Code)
• Assign tasks and track progress within the team
• Shape the technical roadmap, including GenAI feature integration
• Select appropriate technologies for ongoing and future development

Required Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in Data Science and/or Python development
• Hands-on experience with data and algorithms in one or more of the following: sales, marketing, web traffic, production
• Previous experience leading or coordinating a small Data Science team (preferred)
• Fluency in English; German is a bonus
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies
• Solid experience with the following technologies:
• Languages: Python 3.14, PySpark 3.5.3
• Platforms: Databricks
• Cloud: Azure or AWS
• Database: MongoDB
• Infrastructure: Terraform
• Testing: Pytest
• Version Control: GitHub
