Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.
On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Data Engineer/Modeller for a 12-month contract on a remote-first basis (candidates must be UK based).
Purpose of the Role:
Our client (a major UK retail bank) are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join their established Pricing Innovation Programme as a Data Engineer & Modeller. This 12-month contract role offers a remote-first working environment, focusing on the development of new pricing models and capabilities. You will play a key part in enhancing how they approach pricing across the business by collaborating with cross-functional teams and contributing to innovative solutions.
The role combines expertise in data engineering and advanced modelling, leveraging your skills in Cloud/AWS, Python, PySpark, and SQL to build scalable and robust systems. A background in cash flow modelling would be beneficial as you develop and implement new pricing strategies and capabilities for the organisation.
As part of this well-established programme, you will be expected to apply your technical knowledge to drive innovation, improving pricing models, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the business.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Design, develop, and implement data pipelines and models in Cloud/AWS environments to support pricing innovations.
- Develop and optimise pricing models, ensuring scalability and robustness for large datasets and complex business needs.
- Leverage Python, PySpark, and SQL to analyse data and build models that improve pricing strategies and decision-making.
- Contribute to the design and enhancement of cash flow models to better align with business pricing objectives.
- Ensure the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of data processing and model outputs.
- Support the integration of new models and capabilities into existing systems, ensuring seamless functionality and alignment with business processes.
What we require from the candidate:
- Strong experience in cloud platforms, particularly AWS, with a focus on building and deploying data solutions.
- Proficiency in Python and PySpark for data engineering, model development, and processing large datasets.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL for querying, manipulating, and managing data within relational databases.
- Solid understanding of data pipeline architecture, ETL processes, and working with large-scale datasets.
- Experience in developing, testing, and deploying analytical or predictive models, ideally within the context of pricing, finance, or economics.
- Experience working with financial models, ideally with some cash flow modelling experience, to support pricing strategies.
- A strong focus on data accuracy, model precision, and ensuring the quality of deliverables.
