Cut Carbon Support Officer (schools)
Posted 1 day 5 hours ago by Diocese of Truro
The Diocese of Truro is committed to being Net Zero for Carbon by 2030. We believe it is fundamental to our mission to help safeguard the earth for future generations. Schools emissions are a significant part of our carbon footprint, and we seek to support schools to address this.
This role is to work alongside schools that are busy with multiple pressures on their time and resources, helping them to progress plans to cut carbon, building on energy audits and other resources. This has a focus on technical advice, fundraising and project implementation support.
The right person for this role will understand how schools work and be passionate about climate justice and committed to reaching Net Zero for carbon. We need a strong communicator who can adjust to different audiences, engaging people in the cause rather than bulldoze them. Experience of developing projects with schools and fundraising, as well as knowledge of renewables, ideally with a qualification in a relevant area is important.
We are very happy to invest in the right person and can offer a range of training and support.
This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact as part of a unique organisation that prides itself on being a supportive employer. At the Diocese of Truro, we value work-life balance and employee wellbeing and are committed to supporting your development. We offer additional benefits such as flexible working, up to 26 days holiday plus bank holidays, a range of wellbeing activities and the Church of England Pension Scheme with 9-15% employer contributions. More information on this here.
If you are interested in this role, you can find more details and how to apply on the link provided for application. The closing date for applications is midnight on 27 January 2025 with interviews being held on 6 February 2025 in Truro.
This role has been made possible with support from a grant from the Church of England.
Please note that whilst some home working is permitted this role cannot be done remotely and we do not pay staff to commute from outside Cornwall.
We welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, we would particularly welcome applications from those with a disability, or from a UK minority ethnic background, as these groups are currently under-represented in our staff.
SAFEGUARDING - EVERYONE MATTERS - EVERYONE S RESPONSIBILITY
The Diocese of Truro strives to be trauma informed, and is committed to developing safer policies, cultures, and practices.
