If so, our client is seeking a dynamic Corporate Affairs Associate - Media to join their team and play a pivotal role in building and enhancing their reputation across the UK!
About the Role: As a Corporate Affairs Associate - Media, you will support the Public Affairs & Policy initiatives, specifically for the Strategic Infrastructure (SI) business. Your efforts will be crucial in protecting and enhancing the organisation's reputation while facilitating the achievement of business objectives through strategic integrated campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with internal teams to shape policy messages and maintain relationships with UK politicians, civil servants, and key stakeholders, including trade associations and think tanks.
Build and maintain a network of external contacts, attending conferences and events to promote the organisation's interests.
Coordinate responses to government and public consultations, providing input for executive briefings and external engagements.
Anticipate strategic issues and trends, providing insights to senior leaders to influence business decisions.
Set and track KPIs with the Lead Public Affairs Manager, reporting on campaign progress.
Act as the public affairs lead in the Corporate Affairs Response Team (CART) and support the media team as needed.
Contribute to team management and succession planning while fostering a culture of best practises across the Corporate Affairs team.
Support the media function by managing proactive and reactive media inquiries, ensuring effective media strategies are in place.
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience in media relations, particularly within the infrastructure or utilities sector.
Strong skills in stakeholder engagement and negotiation, with a track record of building relationships.
Ability to navigate internal structures and manage media aspects of contentious projects effectively.
Experience in delivering media training and overseeing practise sessions prior to interviews.
Enthusiastic and proactive mindset with a genuine interest in public affairs and policy development.
