Job Description
Commercial Asset Manager for a Local Authority in London!

Your new role
This council puts local people and local businesses at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective, and efficient. This includes managing a commercial portfolio in the region of 170 retail property assets with a rent roll of over £4m.
The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to manage a commercial retail portfolio, where you will be involved in a broad spectrum of work. You will be involved in day-to-day asset management, compliance by our tenants, and by us as landlords. Lease negotiations and maintaining building structure and fabric will also be a key part of the role. You will lead on negotiating rents and contracts with telecoms carriers for the installation of antennae on tall buildings and liaising with other stakeholders within the organisation. As the initial point of contact for all commercial property related matters within the Housing Revenue Account, you will ensure we fulfil our duties as a landlord. Looking ahead, you will support the Head of Asset Management to produce a commercial portfolio roadmap that maximises income and looking at opportunities.
What you'll need to succeed
- RICS Accredited Degree in a relevant field (Real Estate, Project Management, etc).
- Ideally MRICS but not essential.
- Equipped to handle a range of business tenancies and leases, you're likely to have some or a career in commercial property.
- Your knowledge will include a good understanding of leases and licences, have good negotiation skills, attention to detail and flexible in your approach to problem-solving.

What you'll get in return
In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays. We operate a hybrid working policy across the council, meaning you can split your time between the office, site visits and working from home, dependent on business needs.
