With a hands-on culture and close proximity to its clients, Sogeti is currently looking for a Cloud Migration & Testing Consultant to join our Quality Engineering and Test Practice, ensuring alignment with business goals and driving impactful value creation for our clients.
Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your role
Essential Skills:
- Experience of planning, Leading functional & non-functional testing in migration of workloads to AWS.
- Ability to create Test Approach, Test plan, Estimation of effort.
- Strong understanding of both functional and non-functional aspects of the solution, including testing landscape and assurance requirements.
- Review non-functional requirements and specifications to verify that they are unambiguous and testable.
- Build solid understanding of solution in terms of functional & non-functional aspects of the solution, test landscape & required test assurance
- Pro-actively work towards building robust test activities to achieve success of the project.
- Identify and finalise solid Regression test pack + Additional tests to achieve required coverage
- Work with the hardware, Infrastructure and software Technical Teams and Leads as deemed necessary to help them rectify issues encountered during testing.
- To support daily test report to management team
- The existing project has a functional and non-functional test suite. It also has functional and non-functional test environments.
- Ability to assess what additional test scenarios would need to be added to the existing suites to ensure the system is thoroughly tested when ported to the AWS environment. The scenarios will primarily be non-functional (performance, resilience, reliability, operational, reporting etc)
- Ideal candidate should have good understanding and experience of Smart meters ecosystem
- Good understanding of using command Line tools & Linux Command Line.
- Should be able to deputise and support the Program Test Manager in all the activities as necessary.
- Experience in leading technical and multi-discipline teams
- Experience with AWS tools, such as AWS CloudWatch for monitoring, AWS Code Pipeline for CI/CD integration.
- Knowledge of tools like JMeter, Gatling, or LoadRunner to simulate loads and test performance in the cloud.
- Conduct a thorough impact assessment of transitioning our architecture to AWS, covering functional and non-functional impacts across business and technical domains.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across to gather requirements, understand dependencies, and evaluate potential impacts on functionality and performance.
- Identify and document gaps, potential risks, and mitigation strategies associated with migrating to AWS.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members to foster skill development and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on testing strategies and priorities.
- Ability to lead a team in doing test cases, test data preparation, execution & reporting with hands on leadership.
- Ability to review non-functional requirements and specifications to ensure clarity and testability.
- Ability to submit daily status updates and metrics to project leads.
The candidate must be eligible for Security Clearance (SC) for this project. This requires a minimum of five consecutive years of residency in the UK, with no single period of absence from the country exceeding 28 days during that time.
Your skills and experience
Mandatory Skills:
- Experience in managing testing and proving service continuity planning, contributing to operational readiness.
- Test management Experience in testing failover, Disaster Recovery, Backup and Restore, Batch
- Schedule, Operability, Alert/Monitoring, Performance Testing
- Experience in producing test plan and test run plan.
- Good understanding of using command Line tools & Linux Command Line.
- Good understanding and Experience of smart meter network ecosystem
- Previous experience of working with Energy suppliers Gas & Electricity
- Good understanding of non-functional aspects of IT systems.
- Good understanding of Performance, Resilience, Monitoring, Operational Readiness
- Good understanding of AWS cloud
- Experience of using monitoring tool such as App Dynamics, Ops View
- Experience across the following aspects of Testing: Unit, Functional, Integration,
- UAT, and OPT (Operational Process Testing) and SCT (System Capacity Testing)
- Experience in ALM Test Plan and Test Lab and defect management
- Able to document defects within a system (JIRA) and to determine the appropriate
- actions required.
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Your security clearance
To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance.
To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.
