Job Description

Clinical Services Manager

About Claremont Project (Islington):

Claremont is a pioneering charity in Islington dedicated to reducing isolation and enhancing wellbeing, especially for older people. We are a community rooted in the arts, personal growth and meaningful human connection. Our centre offers an array of activities for members aged 55 and over, alongside an affordable psychotherapy service that also serves as a training placement for existentially oriented student therapists.

About the Role

As Clinical Services Manager, you will ensure the quality, safety, and effectiveness of Claremont's psychotherapy service. You'll oversee all aspects of service delivery, from conducting assessments and managing referrals, to supporting trainee therapists and fostering relationships with key stakeholders. You will also act as the secondary safeguarding lead, providing support to Claremont members and ensuring their wellbeing. Representing Claremont at networking events and working collaboratively with local GP's, community groups and healthcare providers, you'll help strengthen our impact in the local community. Ideally, the Clinical Services Manager will be grounded in an existential-phenomenological approach, and will embody Claremont's ethos of real listening, and authentic human connection while driving innovation across the service.

Key Responsibilities

Psychotherapy Service

  • Administer and manage the psychotherapy service, including client assessments, referrals, and waiting lists.
  • Track and evaluate service outcomes using CORE, ensuring excellence in delivery.
  • Recruit, onboard, and support trainee therapists while liaising with their supervisors and academic institutions.
  • Maintain accurate client databases and room assignments.

Safeguarding and Member Support

  • Act as the secondary safeguarding lead, managing concerns and making referrals where necessary.
  • Provide practical and emotional support to Claremont members, fostering a welcoming and safe environment.

Outreach and Development

  • Build and maintain relationships with local GPs, social services, and community organisations.
  • Represent Claremont at forums and events to raise awareness and build referral networks.

About You

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Professional qualification in psychotherapy or counselling, with current accreditation (e.g., BACP, UKCP)
  • Strong organisational skills, including data management and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures (training can be provided)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and leadership qualities, with sensitivity to vulnerable populations.

Desirable Experience

  • Managing or supervising psychotherapy services.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic outcome measures like CORE.
  • Previous experience in a charity or community-focused organisation.
