Location: Ark Alexandra Academy, Hastings, East Sussex

Salary: Ark Outside London Support Scale 9, Pay Points 25 - 32: £35,234 to £41,510 (pro rata)

Actual Salary: £31,861.36 - £37,536.61. Pay is spread evenly over 12 months.

Hours: 36 hours per week with no late nights, 41 weeks per year based around term time - what could you do with all that time off?

About The Role

As Chef Manager, the successful applicant will have responsibility for ensuring the Academy's quality of dining is outstanding, including dining operations, budgeting and finance, health and safety, and managing and developing a high functioning catering team across our two campuses with the support of a Catering Supervisor on each campus.

Our standards are high and meals are prepared daily from fresh ingredients. We need someone who can work quickly and safely, be part of a team and has the confidence to interact with staff and students.

As the ideal candidate you will:

• Have experience of working in a busy kitchen at the same level or similar
• Have knowledge of healthy eating and nutrition and creating related menus
• Have the knowledge and experience to manage and lead a team in all aspects of staff management, including personal development and appraisals
• Have a professional hospitality/catering qualification at L2 or equivalent
• Have financial understanding of ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining quality standards
• Be calm and professional under pressure with the ability to adapt to challenges and opportunities with a solution-oriented perspective
• Have a flexible attitude towards work
