Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £30,000.00 per year

Aramark UK is looking to hire an experienced and dedicated Chef Manager to join the fantastic team at the Highbury Hospital, NG6 9DR. This is an exciting, permanent and full time opportunity reporting into our General Manager on site. The role will assume responsibility for all specialised, texture modified food production across breakfast, lunch and dinner service at the hospital. This role will manage 11 direct reports and serve up to 500 meals a day from one main kitchen.

A day in the life of a Chef Manager:

  • Take ownership and accountability of all operational food management; production and service
  • Lead and manage a team of 11 to success
  • Develop good commercial relationships with suppliers, ensuring receipt of service and quality levels required to obtain the highest financial return
  • Ensure all daily paper / computer work is complete and that inventories and reports are completed correctly and at the right time
  • Be accountable for the management and delivery of budget food subsidy, including GP & labour costs
  • Manage all casual labour including porters and ensure all food and labour costs are in line with budget and business needs
  • Be accountable for stock flow and rotation of product within the unit
  • Ensure a consistent high standard of hospitality offer

You'll be set up for success if you have:

  • Experience operating as a Chef and able to run a kitchen and manage a team
  • Retail/ contract catering experience is essential
  • Experience in a healthcare setting and an appreciation of modified foods is highly desirable
  • Hands on and reliable with a strong work ethic
  • Passion for people and food
