In this position you will, analyze business and user needs, document requirements, support research for technology and solutions, and craft the functional specifications for systems and reports. Formulate and define systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding, combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. Support other IT efforts as needed, including document creation, communication templates, and facilitating non-technical training.

Primary accountabilities:- Captures and writes requirements and design specifications for large or moderately sophisticated systems.
- Analyzes complex issues with requirements and design.
- Helps to define interaction of data with other systems/databases at Thermo Fisher or client companies.
- Works with developers, QA testers, validation team members, operations team, and managers to build and analyze required project documentation.
- Assists in time and resource estimates of requirements and design projects.
- May manage small-scale projects.
- Supports research for technological solutions, evaluate vendors and document findings to stay abreast with the latest developments in related technologies, shares knowledge with team members.
- Trains on new technologies and tools that are related to job duties.
- Participates in meetings with internal members and clients and brings tech expertise to brainstorming sessions with a consultative approach.
- Learns about contact center technological innovation and Genesys Cloud App Foundry.
- Facilitates training to a non-technical audience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.
- Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years' experience working in a software development environment, of which at least 2 years must be directly involved in requirement gathering) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.
- Good understanding of system development life cycle and requirements methodology.
- Good understanding of requirement gathering methodologies, for example Waterfall, Agile, Spiral, JAD sessions, as well as best practices.
- Ability to detail use cases.
- Good understanding of different requirement types such as Business, User, Functional, and non-Functional.
- Ability to craft design specifications for moderately complex systems.
- Good MS Office skills.
- Ability to estimate level of effort for small to medium sized projects.
- Strong business skills including the following: documentation, presentation, interpersonal, and communication.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to interact with relational databases at a basic level.
