You'll be someone who is comfortable working pro-actively and, managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with Senior Managers, Directors, and BDO's Partners. You'll help deliver accurate and transparent reporting to all relevant stakeholders as you provide long term value.
This is an opportunity for a talented, high performing and ambitious Senior Manager to join the methodology team in the Audit Quality Directorate (AQD) in an exciting period and help to shape the role and the expanding team. You will report into and work closely with the Audit Advisory Directors.
Responsibilities
Audit Methodology
As part of the Audit Advisory team, providing advice and ensuring compliance with ISAs and the firm's audit methodology including:
- Managing and supporting with the delivery of key Audit Methodology Projects which entails guidance, support, proposed changes to the audit tool and training.
- General Methodology projects which include writing and updating technical guidance and policies
- Responding to audit methodology queries from audit staff at all levels
- Development and delivery of audit methodology training content relevant to key methodology projects
- Representative for sectors which includes responding to sector specific queries, sector training and support with developing sector specific content
- Responsibility for selected aspects of team management /development
The successful candidate will have responsibilities for forward looking and pre-emptive consideration of upcoming developments and business needs identified in relation to audit methodology. They will have responsibilities for working on specific projects intended to result in new or enhanced guidance, training and other materials for dissemination to the audit stream.
You will be someone with:
Proven audit experience
The ability to communicate with partners and staff at all levels.
ACA or similar professional accountancy qualification
Considers themselves an expert with regards to the UK auditing standards
