At the University of Northampton, we are dedicated to creating an environment where innovation, inclusivity, and excellence thrive. As a member of the University Leadership Team, the Associate Director of Communications & External Affairs will play a pivotal role in shaping our brand, reputation, and engagement strategy.
Reporting to the Vice Chancellor, you will provide strategic leadership across all aspects of communications, media relations, and external affairs. You will be instrumental in developing and delivering an integrated communications strategy that enhances our reputation, strengthens our engagement with key stakeholders, and drives awareness of our strategic priorities.
You will oversee a small central team and work closely with senior leaders to develop and implement innovative and compelling communication strategies, both internally and externally. A key aspect of the role will be managing high-profile external relationships, including government bodies, regulatory agencies, and the media, to ensure our voice is heard in the wider policy and education landscape.
We are looking for an exceptional communicator and strategic leader with significant experience in communication, engagement, and public affairs within a complex organisation. You will have a proven ability to develop and deliver high-impact campaigns, manage reputational risk, and influence senior stakeholders both internally and externally. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a high-profile leadership role at a forward-thinking institution committed to making a real difference.
