About the job

As the Associate Director of Standards and Continuing Professional Development (CPD), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the charity's commitment to excellence in the standards and CPD functions.

Your profile:

Standards and CPD development:

  1. Direct the design and development of our standards and CPD methodology using research and evidence reviews in current education practices, global emerging trends in the sector and best practice in teaching, training and leadership.

Education governance and quality assurance:

  1. Establish effective governance for standards and CPD development including the entire cycle of their development from research and evidence to design and co-production with the sector all the way to impact assessment and evaluation.
  2. Ensure high levels of quality by overseeing our approach to quality management.

Accreditation framework:

  1. Establish a new accreditation framework for the charity based on newly developed standards for accreditation that quality assure high quality CPD within sector institutions.
  2. Develop a credible accreditation offer and work collaboratively with the Strategic Transformation directorate to operationalise the accreditation framework and standards as part of our membership offer and accreditation processes.
  3. Work collaboratively to monitor compliance and provide recommendations for improvement.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Design and Delivery:

  1. Direct the effective and high quality design and delivery of training of all charity CPD programmes and initiatives to respond to sector needs for the workforce development of educators, teachers, trainers, leaders and others.
  2. Ensure all activities are properly evaluated and feedback is used for quality improvement and to inform our knowledge and thought leadership activity.

Stakeholder engagement:

  1. Engage with education professionals, institutions and other stakeholders to understand their needs and solicit feedback on existing standards and CPD programmes.
  2. Represent the charity at conferences, seminars, workshops and industry events to promote the importance of professional standards, raise the profile of the charity and CPD in the sector.

Leadership and Team Development:

  1. As a member of the charity's Leadership Team take collective responsibility for the operations and performance of the charity, communicating risk and management action upwards to Executive Board and driving delivery by the wider staff group.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Educated to master's degree (ideally in education) level or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in curriculum development, standards development, CPD programme design preferably in the education sector.
  • Strong understanding of teaching methodologies and education governance in the sector.
  • An understanding of accreditation processes and quality assurance in the education.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Information:

Starting Salary: £71,150 per annum to start, with service and performance related progression
