Job Description

An opening has come available for an Assistant farm manager on a modern, well equipped arable estate in central Perthshire Scotland, specialising in potatoes, carrots, broccoli and cereals. We focus on using effective management practices, modern techniques, and advanced tools to consistently achieve strong results.

This is an opportunity for someone passionate about arable farming to take on a leadership role and grow within a progressive and dynamic estate. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist managing daily operations and a team of 8 permanent staff plus seasonal workers.
  • Ensure all work is carried out efficiently, with a strong focus on quality, precision, and maintaining high operational standards.
  • Proactively monitor workflows to ensure seamless operations and address challenges as they arise.
  • Reporting directly to the Farm Director to ensure optimal crop production.
  • Maintain precise records and make full use modern farm machinery, software, telematic and agronomy systems.

  • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
  • Expertise in arable farming, particularly in producing high-quality vegetables.
  • Experience with irrigation systems.
  • Skilled in operating advanced farming machinery and software.
  • A proactive, resilient, and detail-focused approach, with the ability to stay committed and effective during demanding periods.

Additional Information

For this role, you must have:
