Hays Accountancy and Finance are recruiting and working in partnership with a public organisation for the appointment of an Assistant Director of Finance, offering great benefits and flexible working conditions.
Key responsibilities include financial and strategic planning, financial resource management, financial performance management, financial reporting & accounting management, pensions, people management & development, and collaborative working.

Your new role

• Efficient, effective and economic use of all financial allocations to ensure the best possible use of available resources.
• The development, implementation and management of organisational policy for the business' financial strategy and financial planning in the short, medium and long term.
• The development of policy as it relates to financial issues, ensuring that policies and procedures are aligned to the legislative context, Financial Regulations and best practice.
• Ensuring the provision of the financial systems facilitate efficient and effective financial management of the business' resources.
• Working and collaborating with staff to ensure delivery of planned financial position each year, achieved through financial performance management and a rigorous approach to all possible financial flexibilities.
• Providing strategic financial advice on key business cases across the Directorates.
• Leading on the performance management arrangements in respect of revenue and capital expenditure across the business to support operational and strategic objectives.
• Providing direction and guidance to the Managers and their teams across the Finance Directorate.

What you'll need to succeed

• A recognized accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA.
• Minimum of three years' post qualification experience in a senior financial management role.
• Valid driving licence.
• Desirable to have exposure to public sector finance and understanding of government regulations.
