Job Description

Job Title: Retail Area Manager VAC133

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Flexible and part time working offered by agreement)

Salary: £35,000 £37,000 per annum plus car allowance

Contract: Permanent

The Role

As Retail Area Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering the success of our growing network of charity shops. You will lead a team of Shop Managers enabling them to perform at their best, maximising income, driving sales and creating a welcoming environment for customers, donors, staff, and volunteers.

This is a hands-on leadership role, balancing strategic direction with operational support to drive performance and foster a strong team culture aligned with our values.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, develop, and motivate a team of Shop Managers, ensuring high performance and engagement.

Ensure each shop meets and exceeds it s sales and profit targets.

Drive sales growth across multiple retail sites, identifying opportunities for increased revenue.

Ensure operational excellence, maintaining high merchandising and customer service standards.

Support the opening and development of new retail locations within the charity s estate.

About You

We are looking for a proactive and results-driven individual with a strong background in multi-site retail management. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, people-focused, and passionate about charity retail.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Proven experience managing multiple retail sites, preferably in the charity sector.

Strong leadership and team development skills, including experience managing volunteers.

A track record of driving sales and profitability in a retail setting.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Knowledge of stock management, pricing strategies, and customer engagement techniques.

Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency in retail systems and Microsoft Office.

Ability to analyse sales performance and manage budgets effectively.
