Job Description
Doctors Direct have an exciting opportunity for 2x Consultant Anaesthetist's to work with us at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust.
The successful Anaesthetist Consultant will be responsible for administering anaesthesia to patients undergoing surgical procedures, pain management, and intensive care. They will ensure patient safety and comfort before, during, and after surgery. Additionally, the consultant will provide leadership, supervises junior medical staff, and participates in the training of anaesthesiology residents.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Conduct pre-operative assessments to determine the most appropriate anaesthetic technique.
Administer general, regional, or local anaesthesia to patients undergoing surgery or other medical procedures.
Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anaesthesia levels as necessary to ensure patient safety.
Provide post-operative care, including managing pain relief and monitoring recovery.
Conduct comprehensive pre-operative consultations, including medical history reviews and risk assessments.
Ensure informed consent is obtained from patients or their guardians before administering anaesthesia.
Respond to medical emergencies, including complications during surgery or post-operative recovery.
Provide advanced life support and critical care interventions as needed.
Lead multidisciplinary teams in complex cases, ensuring high standards of care.

Days per week: Monday-Friday, 09:00 -17:00
Start date : ASAP - on going
Core rate: £105ph - including holiday pay (holiday pay is accrued & claimed)
Unsocial rate: £108ph - including holiday pay (holiday pay is accrued & claimed)
Payment method: PAYE we do NOT facilitate payment through LTD/umbrella companies

Minimum of 6 months paid experience in the NHS/UK
