Hays Accountancy & Finance are exclusively partnering with a leading and well-established Manufacturing Group based in Stroud, Gloucestershire to recruit a dynamic & hands-on Finance Supervisor. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a varied and hands-on role supporting all day-to-day and monthly accounting processes, along with supervising a Finance Assistant within the team. Open to finance professionals who are qualified by experience but also studying for CIMA/ACCA/AAT with relevant experience. A great opportunity to really add value in a growing manufacturing group.
Your new role
Your key duties will involve preparation of monthly Management Accounts, maintaining fixed asset registers, posting accounting journals, VAT returns, bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and reconciliations. You will be involved in import/export documentation processes, audit preparation and year-end schedules, along with bank reconciliations, managing the sales, purchase, and nominal ledgers. You will issue and update stock schedules, raise purchase orders, credit control processes, and be involved in ad-hoc reporting/analysis for the CFO. You will support and assist with supervising the finance assistant while remaining hands-on with transactional duties.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this hands-on Finance Supervisor role, you will need experience in a similar position, ideally AAT qualified, qualified by experience or studying CIMA/ACCA, with strong communication skills to build both internal/external relationships at all levels. You will be organised and reliable, have strong attention to detail, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage workloads. You will have experience with financial systems and good MS excel skills, you will be used to working within close-knit finance teams and varied roles, comfortable helping others when needed and adapting to business needs. Experience within the manufacturing sector and supervising other team members would be advantageous but not essential.
What you'll get in return
This hands-on Finance Supervisor role offers a salary between £35,000 - £42,000 per annum, dependable on experience based in Stroud, Gloucestershire.
