Accounts Assistant

Accounts Assistant, Maternity Contract 12 months, to start anytime between now - October

Hays are working exclusively with an established Car Dealership in Telford who are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join them for c 12 months to cover a maternity leave

Your new role
You will be working closely with the Accountant and duties will include:

Perform daily bank postings and allocating cash, bacs and credit card transactions

Daily bank reconciliation.

Posting purchase ledger invoices

Monthly supplier statement reconciliations.

Monthly payment runs.

Maintain accurate inputs at all times

Maintenance of control accounts for Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Cash Sales, Vehicle Stocks, Warranty Claims, Parts, Petty Cash.

Maintain accurate records for VAT input and output. Assist with the submission of VAT returns.

Carrying out the necessary enquiries regarding requests for credit and pass to the accountant for consideration.

Keep satisfactory records to facilitate a smooth and cost-effective audit at each year end.

Assist Accountant as required with production of information for monthly Management Accounts in prescribed format and content.

What you'll need to succeed
The client is looking for someone who ideally has some experience of accounts within a Car dealership but will consider candidates who dont. You should be confident on Purchase ledger and sales ledger and have good IT skills
