This highly respected Accountancy Firm has a very successful chain of practices. They are looking to appoint a dedicated and highly organised Accounts Assistant to join the practice.

Your new role You will be responsible for completing VAT returns, bookkeeping tasks such as bank reconciliations and updating ledgers, as well as supporting office administration. The role will involve interaction with clients across various sectors, including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:

VAT Returns - Prepare and submit VAT returns for clients in compliance with HMRC requirements. Ensuring accurate recording and categorisation of VAT transactions.

Bookkeeping Tasks - Carrying out regular bank reconciliations for clients. Updating and maintaining client ledgers. Ensuring accurate and timely posting of financial transactions.

Client Interactions - Communicating effectively with clients, providing support and guidance on accounting-related queries. Assisting with
preparation of year-end accounts for clients. Building strong relationships with clients, maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Office Administration - providing general office support, including filing, document management, and correspondence. Maintaining and updating client files and records in digital formats. Assisting in the preparation and submission of tax returns.

What you'll need to succeed
Ideally AAT Level 3 or above.
Proven experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar accounting role.
Ideally experienced in Sage and / or QuickBooks accounting software.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
