Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Law, invites application for three full-time or part-time positions as Assistant Professor or Researcher/Senior Researcher ( 2+2 years, with the possibility of a tenure track) at the Institute for the Interregional Study of Constitutionalism (IISC). The Institute is composed of a multidisciplinary research team working in the fields of comparative constitutionalism, political philosophy, and critical legal studies using emerging technologies. Charles University is the leading university in Central Europe, boasting a nearly 700-year tradition and excellent international rankings, making it one of the most reputable and prestigious universities worldwide. The Faculty of Law, established in 1348 as one of the university's four founding faculties, is now the largest accredited law faculty in the Czech Republic, with over 4,500 students. 3 Full-time/Part-time Positions at Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Law IISC is currently recruiting dynamic, open-minded, innovative, and hands-on faculty who would like to thrive pursuing high impact empirical, comparative, anthropological/sociological, and philosophical research on constitutionalism and the digital public sphere in an interdisciplinary academic environment. Who we are looking for We welcome candidates from a wide range of backgrounds related to constitutionalism and digital legal studies. Those whose research and practice fall within the following areas are especially encouraged to apply: Constitutional Law Comparative Constitutionalism Anthropological/Sociological Constitutionalism (e.g., philosophy of culture, cultural studies, hermeneutics) Constitutional Identity Collective Identity Studies and Communitarianism Critical Legal Studies (e.g., identity politics) Social Media Studies and Digital Public Sphere Studies (e.g., deliberative democracy) Discourse Theory and Discourse Analysis (text mining, classification and analysis) Computational Social Science (natural language processing (NLP) and computational design) Quantitative, Qualitative, and Observational Methodologies (e.g. field studies) and Statistical Analysis Social and Political Psychology European and MENA Studies Islamic Studies All candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in related fields by the time of employment. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage. The appointee is expected to conduct (i) research within the agenda of the IISC, (ii) collaborate closely with the research team on the conduct of the research, (iii) publish in leading academic journals, (iv) present results at major academic conferences in the field, (v) and submit grant proposals.
