1st Line Support Engineer | Midlands | Full-Time On-Site (5 Days a Week) | Initial 6-Month Contract (Inside IR35)
Experis is excited to partner with a highly respected organization based just south of Birmingham to recruit a 1st Line Support Engineer for an initial 6-month contract, with the potential for extension. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who thrive in a collaborative, on-site environment and are eager to support a renowned end-client of this reputable company.
Key Responsibilities:As a 1st Line Support Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth IT operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- User Assistance: Respond to IT-related queries and basic support requests, helping users with login issues and ticket submissions via ServiceNow.
- Call Management: Monitor and update the status of IT support tickets, ensuring timely resolution.
- Hardware Support: Conduct diagnostics, rebuild devices, and ensure compliance with the latest Windows updates.
- Software Support: Install and troubleshoot various software applications, including Office 365, and resolve issues with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
- System Administration: Perform basic tasks in Active Directory (AD), manage SCCM and Nexthink platforms, and troubleshoot issues with mail, Microsoft Teams, Cisco VPB, Citrix, and Outlook.
- Mobile Device Support: Provide basic assistance for mobile devices, including setup and troubleshooting.
- User Education: Help users with login processes, software usage, and general IT best practices.
- Asset Management: Oversee spare and loan stock inventory, ensuring proper allocation and compliance.
- Account Management: Create user accounts, configure devices, and manage special access (eg, typist access).
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and staff for password resets and application support.
Technical Environment:
You will be working within a dynamic and modern technical framework, including:
- Operating Systems: Windows 10/11.
- IT Tools & Platforms: Office 365, Active Directory, SCCM, Nexthink, ServiceNow.
- Networking & Remote Access: Troubleshooting VPNs and other remote access tools like Citrix.
