The temporary Young Women's Domestic Violence Support Worker will be working closely with beneficiaries of this charity to rebuild their lives after having left, or in the process of leaving a domestic violence situation.
This is a part time role, working 2-days per week onsite. This position running until the end of June and is to start as soon as possible, so you will need to be available immediately or have a short notice period to be considered.
You will be a supervised support worker, managing a sensible caseload that suits your experience and capability, and you will be meeting with survivors face to face to provide advocacy in police stations, schools, courts etc. You will utilise practical development to increase social stability, healthcare and general independence, and emotional support through therapeutic activities, providing advice and guidance to equip and empower better socio-emotional health. You'll in essence be working with young women to help them thrive, free from abuse and violence.
Successful candidates will have experience within a similar role, supporting those who are or have been experiencing domestic abuse. An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.
Candidates with IDVA, ISVA, YPVA or similar qualifications will be prioritised.
