Job Description

This large arable farm is looking for a Farm Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and serve as the crucial link between the farm staff and the owner, who is actively involved in managing the business.

As Farm Manager, you will take a hands-on approach, overseeing all aspects of growing potatoes and cereal crops as well as managing a team of six full-time farm workers.

You will work closely with the farm owner who plans to take a step back from operational duties to focus on managing the business and identifying new commercial opportunities.

The ideal person for this position will have several years of practical farming experience and the leadership skills necessary to coordinate and supervise farm staff.

The role:

  • Oversee day to day farming operations
  • Manage farm staff
  • Operate farm machinery
  • Work closely with farm owner
  • Assist with paperwork
  • Ensure high level of health and safety on farm

About you:

  • Experienced arable operator
  • Potato and cereal growing experience
  • Leadership skills
  • PA 1 & 2
  • UK driving licence
  • FACTS/BASIS (Advantageous)
