Kenwood has one of the largest volunteer programmes within English Heritage and we are looking for a Volunteer Manager to join our team on a permanent, full basis, working 36 hours per week.
This is an incredible opportunity for someone with strong volunteer management experience and an interest in working within the heritage sector to support the creation of new connections to shared heritage and history.

As our Volunteer Manager, you will work with key members of the site team and HR & Volunteering team to design and implement new offers in volunteering opportunities, with a view to diversifying the programme and ensuring it accounts for current sector trends, the needs of the local community as well as the needs of the site. This will include managing and delivering the recruitment, training, support, retention and recognition of volunteers engaged in all areas of English Heritage's work.
You will also ensure that all aspects of the volunteer programme are delivered to time, budget and quality.
To be considered as a Volunteer Manager, you will need:
- Relevant experience of successfully managing a diverse volunteering programme.
- Experience of working with the local community.
- Effective communication abilities to deal confidently with a diverse range of audiences representing your site and team and cultivate effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- A visible leader who can involve, inspire and motivate a broad spectrum of volunteers.
- A coaching style which develops individuals and teams for high performance and challenges poor performance.
