There are currently opportunities arising as part of ourcontinued expansion of the transaction taxes team. Our team isbuilding on years of continued growth, with a specific focus forrecruiting the right individuals to support our clients through allstages of transactions.

We are a rapidly growingteam which has meant we have opportunities at the director level inparticular to help shape and accelerate our exciting plans over thenext 5 years. Our profile has increased and, with it, our pipelineof work in the M&A tax space. We are looking for enthusiastic,driven individuals who are keen to take a role that allows forleadership, develop existing and new relationships and helping others in the team achieve their personalobjectives.

JobPurpose

As a Transactions taxdirector you will be responsible for leading our teams in providingthe full range of tax due diligence and M&A structuringservices to our clients.

The role willinvolve covering both domestic and international clients providingan opportunity for those with both purely UK as well ascross-border experience.

We would expect theright candidate to have significant experience working intransactions taxes. They may also have experience on theleadership and strategy development. However, this role couldalso be a good opportunity for the right person to step into theirfirst leadership role, with the ability to build a futurepartnership case.

Role &Responsibilities

Based onthe current team requirements, the role will comprise the followingelements:

Service delivery - Duediligence

  • Beingresponsible for the overall delivery of complex tax due diligenceassignments including leading on the provision of corporation taxdue diligence services to our clients;
  • Liaising with colleagues in VAT, employment taxes, otherspecialist tax services and teams from other Mazars group countriesto project manage the overall tax due diligenceservices;
  • Working collaboratively with bothour transaction services team to go to market andsuccessfully win new combined financial and tax due diligenceprojects;
  • Building client relationshipsthrough engagements and proactively pursuing opportunitiesidentified through due diligence assignments to support clientspost deal.

Servicedelivery - M&A structuring advice

  • Leading on the provision of tax advisorystructuring services to our clients, with responsibilities forsuccessfully delivering complex tax advisoryassignments;
  • Being the main day to day pointof contact on a portfolio of M&A tax advisoryclients;
  • Owning the overall clientrelationship, scoping assignments tailored to client's needs,negotiating fees;
  • Co-ordinating with the dealadvisory team to provide a seamless client service on combinedM&A projects both across other tax services but also combinedwith our financial reporting and other advisory serviceteams.;
  • Ensuring our advice is properlyreflected in all aspects of the transaction through communicationwith clients and their lawyers/other advisers.
  • Collaborating across the wider tax and advisory andconsulting teams in identifying opportunities, developing clientrelationships and supporting other go to marketinitiatives.

Strategicand operational leadership

  • As the team and opportunities continue to develop we needan individual who can help shape the future of the transactions taxteam. Working alongside the existing transaction tax partnersyou will be responsible for helping design and implement a strategyto support the growth of the transactions tax team.
  • Enhancing deliverables and processes to drive quality,including supporting on team training.
  • Peopleresponsibilities for key transaction taxes team members, providingsupport with their personal and professional development,appraisals and wider performance management.

Skills, Knowledge andExperience

  • Holdsrelevant professional qualification such as ACA or CTA (orequivalent).
  • Strong technical knowledge of keytax issues that affect companies and shareholders on atransaction.
  • Experience intransactions
  • Strong project managementskills, with a track record of leading teams on complexassignments.
  • Provides assistance, sharesexperience, provides meaningful feedback and proactively supportsthe development of others.
  • Broad experience ofmanaging the financials on clients, monitoring financialperformance, identifying overruns and successfully negotiating feeswith clients.
