About Standing Together:
Standing Together is a UK-based charity dedicated to ending domestic abuse and creating safer communities. We work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including local authorities, police, and health services, to improve responses to domestic abuse and support survivors. We pioneered the Coordinated Community Response (CCR) approach in the UK, a multi-agency partnership model that ensures the safety of survivors while holding abusers accountable.
Through innovative training, advocacy, and community engagement, we empower individuals and organisations to challenge and change the systems that allow domestic abuse to persist. Our mission is to ensure everyone can live free from violence and abuse, fostering a culture of respect and equality. By leveraging research and best practices, we strive to influence policy and practice, making a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by domestic abuse.
Purpose of the role:
This role is a key component of the wider DAHA Homelessness & Supported Accommodation Project, funded to enhance support for vulnerable individuals. The primary responsibility is to upskill frontline professionals on domestic abuse, with a particular focus on supporting survivors facing multiple disadvantages. By addressing a critical gap in the homelessness sector, this role ensures that the needs of women and survivors of domestic abuse are better understood and supported, offering a more inclusive, trauma-informed approach to care and accommodation.
Key Duties What you will be doing:
- Deliver a range of domestic abuse training to housing, homelessness, and domestic abuse professionals.
- Lead the delivery of training courses, ensuring effective and consistent execution.
- Collaborate with the DAHA Accreditation Manager to adapt and develop training materials.
- Work with Housing Programme Managers and specialists to create innovative and accessible training content.
- Support the evaluation of training programmes to assess their impact and identify improvements.
- Manage administrative processes to ensure CPD accreditation for training materials.
- Coordinate with the Business Support Officer to manage delegates and courses effectively.
- Provide regular updates to the Multiple Disadvantage & Homelessness Programme Manager, ensuring alignment with priorities and timelines.
- Communicate proactively with external partners and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders.
- Adhere to organisational policies, promoting equality, inclusion, and anti-discriminatory practices.
- Contribute to the development and sustainability of the organisation, sharing feedback and fostering collaboration.
About You Skills & Experience:
- In-depth understanding of domestic abuse, its dynamics, and its impact on survivors.
- Knowledge of the coordinated community response to domestic abuse and a commitment to partnership working to improve that response.
- Experience in safeguarding, particularly in the context of domestic abuse.
- Proven ability to work in partnership with both voluntary and statutory sector agencies to ensure effective collaboration.
- Experience in developing and adhering to organisational protocols, procedures, and best practice guidance.
- Commitment to equal opportunities in both employment and service delivery.
- Strong team player with excellent communication, written, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of using initiative and judgement when working with colleagues and partner agencies.
- Comprehensive understanding of the intersections of VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls), homelessness, and multiple disadvantage.
- Proven experience in delivering training, both in-person and virtually, using tools such as Mentimeter and Zoom, while addressing diverse learning needs.
- Ability to create safe, trauma-informed training environments, challenge victim-blaming attitudes, and promote intersectional and anti-racist values.
- Proficient in using word processing, spreadsheets, databases, data collection systems, email, and website technology, preferably in a Windows-based environment.
- Experience working in frontline domestic abuse and/or homelessness services, with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by frontline workers supporting survivors and perpetrators of domestic abuse and multiple disadvantage.
