The Role
Are you an experienced Barbering Trainer with a passion for teaching and rehabilitation? We are seeking a Barbering Vocational Trainer to deliver VTCT Level 3 Barbering Qualifications in a unique, supportive environment. This role is instrumental in equipping learners with barbering skills and enhancing their employability, as well as promoting successful rehabilitation and reentry into the workforce.
Job Highlights:

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver VTCT Barbering Training: Teach barbering techniques to groups of up to 10 learners, preparing them with industry-standard skills, customer service knowledge, and safety practices.
Employability and Literacy Skills: Embed employability, literacy, and digital skills within the training to prepare learners for real-world barbering roles.
Inclusive Learning Environment: Use adaptive teaching techniques to accommodate neurodiverse and other learners, with a focus on Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).
Real-World Experience: Oversee the in-prison barbershop, operating evenings and weekends, and collaborate with local employers to facilitate Release on Temporary License (ROTL) and through-the-gate opportunities for employment.
What You Bring:
- Level 3 Barbering certification, plus strong communication and organisational skills.
- Experience in teaching, coaching, or vocational training.
- Knowledge of restorative practices, health and safety compliance, and adaptive training
Working Hours:
This is a full-time role, 38.5 hours per week, with the following schedule:
- Four days per week: 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- One half-day per week: either 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM or 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM
