On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Third Party Risk Manager for an initial 8 Month contract based in London.

Purpose of the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Third Party Risk & Governance Specialist to support a large-scale transformation programme within a leading financial services organisation. This role is critical in helping the business maintain a strong risk and compliance posture in relation to third-party vendors and IT services.

The successful candidate will combine a deep understanding of IT Risk Management and governance processes with strong data analysis capabilities and a working knowledge of financial systems and regulatory expectations.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Support and advise UK-based contractor owners on third-party risk related to external suppliers and new services.
  • Assess and monitor third-party risk and compliance across services and technology, ensuring alignment with internal policies and regulatory frameworks.
  • Respond to regular regulatory and authority requests, providing clear, well-documented evidence of compliance and risk controls.
  • Handle ad hoc risk and governance queries from internal stakeholders and senior management, ensuring deadlines and SLAs/KPIs are met.
  • Contribute to ongoing risk and governance transformation initiatives, including process optimisation and control enhancements.
  • Analyse risk data from multiple sources, connect the dots, simplify complex data points, and provide actionable insights and reports.
  • Maintain and update risk registers, audit trails, and compliance documentation as required.

What we require from the candidate:

  • Strong background in Third Party Risk Management, IT Risk, or Risk & Compliance within a regulated industry (ideally financial services or trading).
  • Excellent analytical skills - capable of interpreting and comparing multiple data sources, identifying patterns, and simplifying findings.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data queries and manipulation.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience with DBS coding and handling large datasets.
  • Experience working within transformation programmes, ideally involving IT or vendor governance.
  • Comfortable responding to regulatory and audit requests, with a strong understanding of documentation and control requirements.
