On behalf of Tesco Bank, AMS are now looking for a Technical Vulnerability Engineer to work in their TechOps team based in Scotland (Edinburgh or Glasgow - Hybrid) for an initial contract length of 12 Months.

Purpose of the Role:
Tesco Bank is seeking a highly experienced Technical Vulnerability Engineer to join the TechOps Infrastructure Services team on a tactical contract basis. You will be working directly with Networks, Unix, and Windows Teams, with a direct focus on managing and remediating technical vulnerabilities across our estate.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in aligning cross-team infrastructure efforts, driving security remediation initiatives, and ensuring SLA compliance in collaboration with the Security Operations and Vulnerability Management teams.
The Role & Responsibilities:
Tesco Bank is seeking a highly experienced Technical Vulnerability Engineer to join the TechOps Infrastructure Services team on a tactical contract basis. You will be working directly with Networks, Unix, and Windows Teams, with a direct focus on managing and remediating technical vulnerabilities across our estate.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in aligning cross-team infrastructure efforts, driving security remediation initiatives, and ensuring SLA compliance in collaboration with the Security Operations and Vulnerability Management teams.
Responsibilities of the Role:
- Aligning all the Tech Infrastructure Services (cross teams) to manage and mitigate ongoing security vulnerabilities and perform delivery against the SLA's tracked via the Security Operations Vulnerability Management Team.
- Performing technical service delivery in operational (BAU) contexts.
- Leading vulnerability management and remediation efforts across core infrastructure systems: Wintel, Unix/Linux, Networks, and End User Computing.
- Work closely with the Security Operations (SecOps) team to investigate, triage, and remediate security vulnerabilities identified through monitoring tools, penetration testing, and audits.
- Provide hands-on engineering support and remediation within Legacy systems, on-prem infrastructure, data centres, and core banking platforms.
- Navigate and resolve potential cultural or technical clashes between Infrastructure and SecOps teams to achieve a collaborative risk mitigation approach.
Key Accountabilities, Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in technical service delivery in operational (BAU) contexts.
- Strong background in technical infrastructure engineering, with focus on networks, Linux/Unix, Windows Server, and End User Compute
- Expertise in vulnerability management, including hands-on remediation, security tooling, and patch management.
- Experience working within banking or financial services environments, ideally at an enterprise level.
- Solid understanding of penetration testing outputs, and ability to translate findings into actionable remediation plans.
- Proven ability to liaise across departments and manage risk mitigation at senior technical and operational levels.
- Familiarity with Legacy infrastructure environments - this is not a cloud transformation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to manage cross-functional teams and resolve conflicts.
