Description: Technical Support Engineer

Background:

Our client is looking for an additional member to join the First Level Support Team in Basel, Switzerland. The new team member will be part of a distributed team located in Switzerland, Hong Kong, and Mexico. As a Level 1 Technical Support Engineer, you are responsible for finding solutions to incidents on an array of Banking-specific applications reported by business users from front, middle, and Back Office. Together with the extended Banking IT team, you would help resolve issues end-to-end. You would document resolutions and share your knowledge with the rest of the First Level Support Team. You will contribute to development and work items.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

Resolve incidents reported by business users on Banking applications

Coordinate between various teams within Banking and internal IT teams within our client to fix major incidents

Communicate updates to business users

Document issues and resolutions using internal systems

Contribute to long-term system enhancements either as a developer or a business analyst

Must haves:

At least 3 years' experience working at a financial institution as engineer/technical support in a banking environment. (*)

Experience working with order management systems (esp. FIS Cross-Asset Trading and Risk Platform/FrontArena) (*)

Hands on experience working in an ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) environment/knowledge (*)

Experience working with Oracle Database or Microsoft SQL Server, and writing SQL queries (*)

Experience with ticketing systems (eg, ServiceNow, Jira, Zendesk). (*)

Familiarity with monitoring and diagnostic tools (eg, ELK) (*)

Interpersonal skills:

Self-motivated

Ability to take initiative and suggest improvements

Excellent analytical skills

Excellent communication skills in English

Nice to have:

Experience working with OpenLink Findur/Endur or any major trading platform

Experience working with GoldenSource or any major enterprise data management system

Experience working with financial messages (SWIFT, FIX, CTM)

Experience working with asset management solutions (Aladdin)

Experience with trading venues (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, FXall, Tradeweb, Eurex)

Client facing experience in the role of the technical support

Experience with the different stages of software development life cycle

Experience developing in Python, Java, C++ or C#

A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
