Salary: Grade 16 (£58,692 - £60,819)

Permanent - 36 hours per week
Welcome Payment - £5,000
Retention Payment - £5,000

Job Purpose

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Team Manager to join us and support our extremely talented team of Social Workers to driving the service forward. You will lead and manage performance of a team and foster a culture of continuous learning and reflection of practice that inspires staff to give their best in their roles. Croydon's MASH is the 'front door' for all new referrals for children who may need early help support or children's social care intervention, making important decisions about which services children need. We are the first contact many professionals, families and members of the public have with Croydon and as such we want people to receive outstanding services from the start. We need a Team Manager who is experienced and passionate about leading the team towards achieving positive change for children and families.


Essential Requirements

Qualified and registered Social Worker who is Social Work England registered.
Experience working in MASH (desirable).
Experienced in making assessments, implementing plans and delivering interventions for children in the relevant service area of the child's journey. Experienced in leading and managing performance of a team of social workers, ensuring the cases are allocated effectively in terms of skills and experience suited to the complexity of the case.
Lead, direct and motivate a team implementing and delivering change.
Ability to promote and develop good social work practice across a team.
Be confident and consistent in their decision making, and ability to apply national and local legislation and thresholds.
Work collaboratively with internal and multi-agency partners.
Make safe decisions under pressure.
Support audit activity and ensure learning is embedded in the service.
Be enthusiastic for change in promoting better ways of working with families and professionals.
Demonstrate a high level of personal accountability and to be committed town social work practice development.
