The role
Francis Holland Preparatory School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and proactive professional for the role of Teacher of Drama. This opportunity would suit someone who wants to work as part of a small, dedicated team and has a passion for education.
This part-time role would suit a teacher who has experience of teaching drama to primary aged children, with QTS or drama qualifications relevant to the post.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and teach well-structured, high-quality drama lessons, following the school's plans and curriculum, working with schemes of work
- Prepare and lead drama performances, to include: the Infant Nativities, year group plays, and Prep School musicals
- Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge and positively support whole school initiatives
- Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of girls
- Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge girls
- Promote good progress and outcomes by girls
- Meet the expectations set out in the Teachers' Standards
- Support and work collaboratively with the Class Teachers and Teaching Assistants, in the Prep School
- Manage parental contact when required
- Contribute to the marketing of the school through contributions to newsletters, the school magazine, the website and attending school events
- Attend school assemblies
- Provide cover lesson plans for any absence
