We are seeking a highly motivated Tax Manager to join our dynamic Finance team based in Cheltenham. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and enthusiastic candidate to join a fast-growing renewable energy business recently backed by a large institutional manager as it heads into its next phase of strong growth.
About the role
This role involves working closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide advice on UK and international tax issues whilst also ensuring compliance processes are managed effectively. The Tax Manager is responsible for tax planning, providing business advisory services, tax compliance and reporting as well as risk and governance across the group.
Key responsibilities include:
Prepare, implement and monitor the group tax strategyIdentify and implement tax optimisation opportunitiesIdentify and mitigate tax risk - Provide innovative tax planning and reviewing complex income tax planning arrangementsTax compliance management, monitoring and reportingAccurate and timely preparation and filing of all direct and indirect tax returnsPreparation of tax accounting calculations, journals and tax notes for statutory accountsResponsible for tax paymentsPreparation of tax budgets and forecastsReview and support employment related taxes calculations and submissionsManage external and internal tax inquiriesConduct research on complex tax issuesDocumentation and quantification the group / company's tax positions as requiredManage and liaise with third party professionals including solicitors, accountants, tax advisers and independent financial advisersStay updated with changes to tax legislation and emerging tax laws as well as optimum tax planning and saving provisionsImprove systems, processes and automationPrepare training materialsEstablish strong relationships with senior stakeholders to ensure tax matters are managed and compliance requirements understoodPrepare and manage transfer pricing and service level agreementsTax support on the M&A transactionsSupporting ad hoc projects.About you Professional tax qualifications (ATT/ CTA) requiredIn-depth knowledge of UK tax laws, regulations, and accounting principlesExperience in working in a corporate tax role in industry or preferably practiceA technically sound accountant, able to work in a complex & global environmentPrior experience within complex, fast-paced, lean businessExcellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returnsGood at meeting deadlines and problem-solving skillsAble to work with highly skilled and supportive colleagues and highly commercial senior leadersThe ideal candidate will have prior experience managing complex tax projectsStrong stakeholder management and influential skillsAbility to examine and question information from a variety of sourcesAbility to work under pressure to tight deadlines on multiple projects.Benefits Working with my client will provide you with the opportunity to help us make a significant contribution to UK net zero targets in a dynamic, flexible, and challenging working environment.
