Job Description

As a member of the Global Supplier Quality organization, the Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will be a key contributor into the global supplier quality / performance management program at Thermo Fisher. The SQE is responsible for ongoing maintenance of the supplier program, overseeing the assessment function and day to day supplier management. This position collaborates closely with other departments to identify, investigate and resolve product non-conformances while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The role holder is part of the Global Supplier Quality Team and as such supports the global supplier program as the need arises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the Global Supplier Quality team Bio-Chemicals Commodity to support at different levels and to drive down risk within the commodity supply base.
  • Lead and run the execution of objectives for the control of external suppliers, in alignment with goals of the company and objectives.
  • Ensure alignment between suppliers and related quality requirements and specifications.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain appropriate metrics to assess supplier performance. Provide timely and accurate communication to team on supplier performance metrics.
  • Lead meetings related to supplier performance monitoring, issue resolution, strategy definition for specific suppliers.
  • Drive problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and internal customers to eliminate recurrence of non conformances.
  • Generate and maintain responsibility for Supplier Quality Agreements that align with Thermo Fisher expectations for the manufacture to ensure compliance with current standards, guidance documents, and regulations for the sale of product as applicable.
  • Collaborate with global and local functions to determine actions and priorities for supplier-related quality issues.
  • Develop relationships with critical suppliers to support the business.
  • Work with relevant business Unit leaders to facilitate integration of new suppliers.
  • Continuously question and improve processes and methodologies.

Keys to Success:

Education
  • B.S. in Engineering, Operations Management, or Biological Sciences preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Quality lead auditor training certificate preferred.
Experience
  • Experienced in supplier performance management.
  • Experience with business and quality management systems (e.g., SAP, TrackWise, Power BI).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 required and 21 CFR Part 820 preferred.
  • Project planning and working knowledge of Excel, Word, Access, and quality management software.
  • Understanding of six sigma tools such as 8D, FMEA, DMAIC, Value Stream Map, and Pareto Analysis preferred, Lean tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers; highly Functioning team leader and team member in a multi-skilled, dynamic business environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English required.
  • Strong presentation skills preferred.
  • Forward thinker with a proactive mentality and a track record of delivering innovative solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement with procedures, policies, and quality assurance methodologies.

Compensation

The monthly salary range estimated for this position based in Lithuania is €2 625,00-€3 937,50.
