Job Description

The opportunity

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Staff Engagement Administrator to join the UAL Short Courses team.

In this key role, you will manage the full recruitment, onboarding, and administration process for Short Course Tutors, Teachers, and other hourly paid staff, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for both candidates and hiring managers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that all new starters meet the necessary employment criteria and are properly set up in the relevant systems to ensure they are contracted and paid promptly, in accordance with our policies and deadlines.
  • Organising college site visits, giving new hourly paid tutors, technicians, and teachers a basic induction and overview on UALSC & UAL, HR processes and procedures, and guidance on how to use the UAL applications to enable them to access their contracts and payslips.
  • Providing advisory and administrative support, such as preparing job descriptions, coordinating application information, organising and overseeing interviews, and preparing the relevant documentation.

About you

The ideal candidate will bring significant administrative experience, preferably gained within a Payroll or HR environment, with a proven ability to manage processes under tight deadlines. You will have strong numeracy skills, attention to detail, and the capability to work with various internal systems to ensure smooth operations, accurate reporting, and effective monitoring. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to deliver a responsive, customer-focused service.
