Site Engineer - Permanent - Civils - Suffolk

A leading Civil Engineering contractor based in Suffolk, but operating throughout the UK. They deliver high-quality civil engineering projects in various sectors including highways, bridges, infrastructure, flood defence, energy, and rail.Your new role
Due to an increase in workload, you will join the team as a Site engineer and will specialise in Site setting out for large infrastructure/road schemes in the Suffolk area.
Responsibilities:

  • Perform setting out tasks using total stations, GPS equipment, and traditional methods such as profiles, batter rails, and pegs.
  • Read and review construction drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct basic take-offs for project planning and estimation.
  • Raise technical queries with designers and other client team members to clarify project details.
  • Carry out inspections and testing to ensure the works conform to design and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental policies, as well as company procedures.
  • Understand commercial aspects of projects, including the difference between cost and value

  • What you'll need to succeed
  • A B.Sc., HND, HNC qualification, or equivalent.
  • Previous civil engineering experience, especially in highways schemes with a main contractor.
  • A CSCS card.
  • An SMSTS card and ICE membership.
  • A full UK driving licence, as the role involves travel throughout our Eastern Region.
  • A First Aid at Work qualification (desirable)
