Your New Role
Whilst working as a shift Maintenance Technician you will report to the Maintenance Manager and ensure that all facilities are maintained in optimum condition to meet required standards of safety, efficiency and reliability. You are responsible for undertaking various planned and reactive maintenance tasks and will work as part of the maintenance team in a varied and fast-paced environment.
Whilst on shift your core duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Main Responsibilities
1. Complete planned repairs and preventative maintenance in accordance with the Computerised, Maintenance, Monitoring system to prevent breakdowns and maintain optimal operation of equipment to ensure minimal disruption.2. Complete breakdowns in accordance with the Computerised, Maintenance, Monitoring system, reporting daily to ensure minimal disruption to production requirements.
3. Ensure maintenance work backlogs are actively cleared with overtime working as necessary.
4. Sourcing, identify and ordering spare parts when required to minimise associated downtime with specific repairs.
5. Awareness of energy usage particularly when machines are idling and not producing to save/reduce energy consumption and thus reducing the carbon footprint and adherence to compliance with customer targets: a) Complaint hygienic maintenance practices b) Compliant lock out procedures to protect employees from rotating machinery.
6. Supervise contractors as required to ensure Health and Safety compliance.
7. Train other stakeholders to develop Standard Operating Procedures, planned maintenance and information systems.
8. Ensure compliance and maintain, up-to-date records for P.A.T tests, fixed wire tests, fire extinguishers, fire alarms, fire pumps, five value sets, break glass alarms, heat detectors, hoists, hot work permits, emergency light tests and asbestos surveys.
9. Travel to multi-site facility as requested to complete maintenance requirements.
10. Carry out all maintenance work in compliance with Health and Safety and statuary regulations to provide a safe environment for the employees.
11. Monitor all aspects of internal Health and Safety relating to day to day operations and suggest improvements where applicable.
12. Report all non-compliance of contractors as required to ensure Health and Safety and Hygiene compliance standards are met.
13. Report all accidents, incidents and near misses as they arise using the factory forms with all the relevant information needed for investigation and report to your line manager.
14. Adhere to the Company's internal/external audits.
15. Ensure Personal Protection Equipment is maintained as fit for purpose, and correctly worn.
16. Report faulty Personal Protection Equipment to your line manager.
17. Ensure Safety Harness is stored correctly, inspected, tested and available when working at heights.
18. Communicate any major or reoccurring issues immediately and update the status on these issues regularly to allow decisions to be made.

What You'll Need To Succeed
We are looking for some multi-skilled maintenance experienced ideally in a production environment. You must be time served electrically or mechanically and have at least 3 years post-apprenticeship experience working within a similar position. In order to be considered for this role you must also be educated to HND level.
What You'll Get In Return
A 36-hour week pays £45,300 which is £24.20 per hour. This means you reach an over-time rate sooner, paid at time and a half so your earnings in comparison to other similar companies can be higher. The company has a shift pattern over 5 weeks that also gives you 2 weeks off in the middle so your annual leave stretches further. They also have a generous sickpay scheme to look after you.
