Service Engineer for Welding & Cutting Equipment, Gas & LEV Equipment Inspections

£35,000 to £45,000, depending on qualifications and experience

Our client is a long-established family business in the welding supplies industry, who are looking for a Service Engineer to join the team.

The job role will be workshop based from their main distribution centre in Didcot Oxfordshire, with some travel to customers on site, carrying out calibration of welding equipment, gas inspections, and LEV testing of welding fume extraction equipment.

The Role:

  • Fault diagnosis and repair of all makes of welding equipment and plasma cutters. This will include in-house training from experienced personnel and from equipment manufacturers that they work with.
  • Calibration of welding equipment to ISO 60974-14 - There will be full training available on this.
  • Preparing and maintaining all welding equipment in the hire fleet.
  • Working on orders that involve the assembly of products including welding equipment and welding torches.
  • Gas equipment inspections to CP7 on site - Once again full training will be available for this.
  • LEV (Local Exhaust Ventilation) testing of welding fume extraction equipment on site.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Will have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C / level 4 or above including Mathematics and English.
  • A motivated individual with great communication skills that is able to work well within a team, whilst also able to handle responsibility and work well on their own.
  • Level 3 / ONC or equivalent in electrical electronic engineering.
  • Good knowledge of identifying and handling tools.
  • Has an interest in electrical electronic engineering and circuit board repair.
  • Standard computer skills is essential.

Benefits and Role Details:

  • £35,000 to £45,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
  • Holiday 28 Days per full calendar year (inclusive of Bank Holidays).
  • Standard hours are usually 7.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, with hour lunch.
